Talking To Your Customers The Right Way.

Today I am taking a different approach to my blog post. It is a little bit more personal as I would like to get to know you a bit more.

I have been looking around eBay to get some inspiration as to what I can teach you today.

Well, you won’t believe what I found in some of the listings……

1.       Not even talking about the product.

2.       The type face is that big they are screaming at you.

3.       All sorts of instructions and demands.

And the list went on and on…..

I had no idea, I guess I just thought everyone knew how to talk to their customers.

So let’s take a serious look at the anatomy of a good listing. Now I have written about this before but maybe people don’t realize the importance of a GREAT listing.

You only have a few seconds to capture your customer, if you don’t say something nice and productive in the first sentence then you may as well not even list your item.

If you are not very good at writing then now is the time to learn.

Firstly, pick up your item and pretend that you have a customer in front of you. Now tell this person  all the good points about this item. This is what you will write inside your listing above the fold (that’s the top of the listing.)

Once you have written a whole lot of things about the item. You can write your instructions about payments, postage and return policies. These instructions need to be written in a very professional and polite manner.

The idea is for people to like and trust you, once that happens they will buy from you time and time, again.

Why you should listen to me, I have been in sales for many, many years of line. So these things just came naturally to me. So I totally forgot that not everyone had the same background. I do apologize for not having more insight into this.

This has been a very educational day for me and you will truly benefit from this as I have a lot more to teach you from what I saw out there. I will be starting my video’s this week to show you what is important to do in your titles, listings and in your eBay settings.

Keep a look out for these video’s so that you can get more traffic and more sales, equating to more $$$ for you.

Research! Research! Research!

Happy Research Day. ~ The title today is Research, and the best research tool is Terapeak.

I get people ask me all the time "How do you know what to sell successfully on eBay". Well, the thing is you can sell or list just about anything online. More and more people are turning to purchasing online. However, you don’t want to buy a whole lot of stock and find that you are stuck with it. That is why it is so important to do some thorough research.

The best research tool that is available is Terapeak. Tearapeak will give you that competitive edge.

Now Terapeak is not A FREE SERVICE but if you want to do your research the easy way this is the best.

There are some Free keyword research tools out there. One of the free ones is Google Keyword Tool. And you can use completed listings to see how much items sold for. Using this process can be quite difficult and frustrating.

Now let’s look at what we want to be looking for in an item when researching our Niche.

  1. The item needs to be in demand with a good sell through rate.
  2. The item needs to be in a Niche. (eg King Size Clothing for men, Ladies Lace Under wear)
  3. The item needs to appeal to a reasonable sized group of people. (Zappo’s knew that people love shoes.)
  4. The item needs to be able to be bought wholesale at a good price.
  5. There is not to much competition, it’s good to have some competition but not hundreds of people selling the same thing.

Once you have collected all the data and all the information looks like it will be a profitable Niche. Then I suggest that you buy a small amount of those items and sell them on eBay to test them.

If you are unable to buy small quantities from supplier, I suggest you buy those items in a store when they are on special.

This is actually another good way to source stock and that is buying items on special and reselling on eBay. Just keep in mind that you don’t purchase a whole lot of high profile brand name items as eBay will remove your listings and you don’t want to be stuck with a whole lot of stock.

So get started with your Research you can click the link on the side for Terapeak it will take you to their site.

Pop your name and email into the box on the side and collect your FREE REPORT.
