Today I am taking a different approach to my blog post. It is a little bit more personal as I would like to get to know you a bit more.
I have been looking around eBay to get some inspiration as to what I can teach you today.
Well, you won’t believe what I found in some of the listings……
1. Not even talking about the product.
2. The type face is that big they are screaming at you.
3. All sorts of instructions and demands.
And the list went on and on…..
I had no idea, I guess I just thought everyone knew how to talk to their customers.
So let’s take a serious look at the anatomy of a good listing. Now I have written about this before but maybe people don’t realize the importance of a GREAT listing.
You only have a few seconds to capture your customer, if you don’t say something nice and productive in the first sentence then you may as well not even list your item.
If you are not very good at writing then now is the time to learn.
Firstly, pick up your item and pretend that you have a customer in front of you. Now tell this person all the good points about this item. This is what you will write inside your listing above the fold (that’s the top of the listing.)
Once you have written a whole lot of things about the item. You can write your instructions about payments, postage and return policies. These instructions need to be written in a very professional and polite manner.
The idea is for people to like and trust you, once that happens they will buy from you time and time, again.
Why you should listen to me, I have been in sales for many, many years of line. So these things just came naturally to me. So I totally forgot that not everyone had the same background. I do apologize for not having more insight into this.
This has been a very educational day for me and you will truly benefit from this as I have a lot more to teach you from what I saw out there. I will be starting my video’s this week to show you what is important to do in your titles, listings and in your eBay settings.
Keep a look out for these video’s so that you can get more traffic and more sales, equating to more $$$ for you.
